Clear Answers. Thoughtful Care. Centered on Your Child.
When you’re concerned about your child’s feeding, speech, oral development, or tongue movement, it’s easy to become overwhelmed by conflicting information. One website says one thing. Social media says another. Friends and family may have completely different experiences.
At Charlotte Tongue Tie Center, we want to make the process easier to understand. Our approach is centered around your child—and your family.
We listen to the concerns that brought you to us, carefully evaluate your child’s oral function, explain what we observe, and help you understand the options available.
- Our Evaluation Philosophy
We Don't Just Look For A Tongue Tie. We Look At Your Child.
Every child’s mouth is different, and the presence of a frenulum does not necessarily mean treatment is needed. That’s why evaluation matters.
We consider your child’s symptoms, oral function, movement, age, development, and the concerns you’re experiencing at home. Our goal isn’t to rush families toward a procedure. Our goal is to help families make informed decisions.
Evaluation Before Assumptions
What matters is how anatomy, function and your child's real-world symptoms fit together.
You know Your Child Best.
What Parents Can Expect From Us
Your experience at home matters. Our process is designed to help you understand what we’re seeing and feel informed about the next step.
We'll Listen
What you're seeing during meals, bottles, breastfeeding, conversations, bedtime or daily activities gives us important information.
We'll Evaluate
We'll examine oral structures and function and consider how our findings relate to the symptoms you're reporting.
We'll Explain
We'll explain our findings in language that makes sense, so medical or dental terminology doesn't leave you more confused.
We'll Discuss Options
If we identify a concern, we'll discuss potential next steps and answer your questions.
We'll Support Your Family
When your child would benefit from additional care, we can help connect your family with appropriate professionals.
- Collaborative Care
It Can Take A Team
Children don’t develop in isolated systems. Feeding, speech, oral movement, dental development, and other functions can sometimes overlap. For some children, collaborative care can be helpful.
Our Partnership With Bubbles Pediatric Dentistry
Charlotte Tongue Tie Center is proud to be a partner of Bubbles Pediatric Dentistry. This relationship allows families to have access to pediatric dental resources and professionals who understand the unique needs of children.
Speech Therapy Resources
When speech concerns are involved, families may also benefit from working with a speech-language professional. Through our professional network, families can be connected with speech therapy providers when additional evaluation or therapy may be appropriate.
Our goal is to help parents understand who should be involved and why, rather than leaving families to navigate everything alone.
Care Built Around Your Child
There is no one-size-fits-all approach to tongue and lip tie concerns. Some children may simply need monitoring. Others may benefit from supportive therapies. And some may be candidates for treatment after an appropriate evaluation.
We’ll help you understand what may be appropriate for your child.
